Short Bio

João Pereira is a senior research Engineer at the Underwater Systems and Technology Laboratory (LSTS) at the University of Porto and he’s head of the LSTS’s hardware division. He earned a Masters degree (2009) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Porto and soon joined the LSTS with the purpose of working with challenging robotic technology. His focus and expertise are the development of electronics, prototyping and maintenance of underwater and water unmanned vehicles. He is also an experienced operator of LAUVs having led several campaigns and field exercises organized by LSTS and Portuguese Navy.

João also has interest in unmanned aerial vehicles, RC models and do it yourself projects.
