Atlantic Polex 2021

2021-11-09

On the 27th and 28th of October LSTS was present at the Atlantic Polex 2021 event, hosted by the  Autoridade Marítima Nacional. In this event we were able to see the techniques used to collect pollution for studies, methods to clean these hazards from the water, sand and rocks as well as identify its main source.

This close up interaction allows LSTS to develop new technologies that combat and aid the authorities in the fight against pollution. One such technology can be seen in Project RaMP that was present at the Atlantic Polex 2021 event. The project's main objective is to create a mechanism that will allow AUV's to collect pollution samples remotely without the need of operators. This means less exposure to the operators, quicker, and more precise samples along with reduced operation costs.
